The UFC is proud to be entering it’s first Integrated Football side in the Perth Football League for the 2025 season. With the opening of the Neil Donaldson Pavilion, the club finally has the facilities to welcome players of all abilities to the hallowed turf of the McG.
What is Integrated Football?
COMMUNITY CLUB INCLUSION
TEAM BASED PARTICIPATION
PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL WELL BEING
All abilities football in WA has its origins in 2008/09 where several Perth Football League clubs identified a need for players with an intellectual disability who love the game of footy.
The program was launched as Integrated Football.
Integrated Football grew and evolved from Come-N-Try Days to facilitating a yearly football competition with players part of local Perth Football League clubs.
Today, the program retains its participation and development origins but has a strong competitive element where players can strive and have the same opportunities as abled footballers. Players play the same game, format and season as AFL footballers.
Integrated Football provides participants the same physical, mental and social benefits as those who are not intellectually disabled. We believe it offers many benefits to the individuals, their families and non-disabled athletes. The value of this inclusive environment is explored in terms of the connection they provide among and between individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families and the surrounding community.
