It comes with great sadness that we inform University Football Club players, patrons and wider community about the passing of beloved club legend, Neil Donaldson.
Neil Donaldson epitomized what it meant to be apart of the University Football Club. He was a larger than life character, providing many laughs, insights and historic moments surrounding the club he loved so much.
He’s had one of the most decorated tenures in WA Football, with 60+ years of involvement.
– University Football Club Life Member
– WAAFL Life Member
– WA Football Commission Life Member
– 5x Premiership coach
– Club President
– 252 Games
– In 2012, Neil was awarded the medal of the Order of Australia for his service to Australian Rules Football in WA.
Even in the early stages of his diagnosis, Neil would be seen at McGillivray Oval, cheering every team to victory. But it was the introduction of our Women’s sides that really stole his heart. The passion and commitment he provided to get the Female Program up and running is a testament to his character and undeniable loyalty to the University Football Club. The inaugural 2018 A Grade premiership being one his most memorable achievements.
Neil Donaldson is the fabric of what our club is today. He was a player, coach, manager, president and administrator but most importantly, a loyal supporter and friend.
In our hearts forever.
Vale Neil Donaldson
